July 21, 2007 - Wedding in Snowbird

Dave,

What a night!!! Thank you, thank you for making the wedding such a perfect occasion. We couldn't have hoped for more!!!!

Just got off a river trip, so I haven't had a chance to talk to alot of our guests, but those I did speak to said that you were the best wedding band that they've heard. I couldn't agree more!! Jesse had a great time playing with you, too!! [*Dave's note: Jesse is a cousin to the bride, and a professional sax player from Chicago who sat in on a number of songs*]

You guys (and gal) were worth EVERY PENNY!!!!!!!!

Fondly, Gayle and Peter Stevens [parents to the bride]

TPOF:

Thank you and your crew for a fabulous evening last night. Your band is so very talented. I cannot wait to tell Lillie at Soiree Productions, and future clients, all about you! All of James and Caitlin’s guests had such a fun time dancing and singing along with your tunes!. Thank you for all of your follow up and detailed notes on the front end. I think it really helped things to run smoothly. Thanks again for “rolling with it” on site.

Take care!

August 26, 2006 - Wedding for Catherine Blake/Jeremy Spearman, Midway, UT (with the Party Train Horns!)

Hey Dave,
Everyone raved about the fantastic band and how energetic you were -- even with the power outage, or whatever it was, you guys changed gears and kept the music and energy going. [Dave's note: the power to the venue (except, oddly, my bass amp) where we playing went out for a while... but with the Party Train horns joining us on the gig, the drums, horns and I were able to keep on playin'. I will never forget the sight of the trumpet player reading the music to "In the Mood" while Guy, Rod and Kelly V used their cell phones to light up his music for him... Now, back to Catherine's email]

And you did a PERFECT rendition of our request, "Crazy Little Thing Called Love". I thought our first dance matched the song exactly. Thank you!

Anyway, I was tickled pink and delighted by everything. In my mind it was a fairytale wedding and no small measure of that is because of you. So many many thanks ... And I won't hesitate to recommend you to anyone who asks about a great band.

Thank you again for your willingness to work with us to make everything just right.

All the best,
Catherine

August 18, 2006 - Corporate function for JC Penney at the Hogle Zoo, Salt Lake City

Dave,
Thank You! I thought you were excellent. My husband who is not only very picky about music and usually avoids concerts or band performances all together, absolutely thought you guys ROCKED! I had several associates that expressed appreciation for having you play at our company party this year.

We definitely look forward to working with you in the future whenever we have need of some great music!

July 21, 2006 - Scales/Rafetto Wedding in Sun Valley, Idaho (with the Party Train Horns!)

Hi Dave,
We are currently on our honeymoon on a layover at the Honolulu airport on our way from Lanai to Kauai. I just wanted to shoot you an email to say thank you for making our wedding such an incredible success. We have heard over and over again that it was one of the best parties our friends had been to in years and that enthusiasm is largely due to you guys. Thank you for helping to make it literally the best night of my life. I hope that you guys had safe travels back to SLC.

Best wishes,

People still talk about the band....and what a great wedding it was!

July 9, 2005 - Labadia/Lancaster Wedding in Jackson, Wyoming

I wanted to take a quick second and let everyone know how much we loved having Dave and the Party of Five play at our wedding. In Dave-speak, allow me to Testify... : )

Well, needless to say, they where absolutely phenomenal with just 5 pieces. We had a smaller sized outdoor reception, with about 85 guests, and the band setup inside the main tent on a small stage.

During dinner, they played some 'background' music, no vocals, and they absolutely blended into the scenery. Not too loud, not too soft, they filled that role perfectly. They were definitely in tune with allowing people to have conversations, without the need to talk over them.

They handled our first introduction as a married couple, and then moved onto the 'first' dances. They learned a new song for my wife's dance with her father, which was probably an untraditional request: John Fogerty's "Centerfield". And for my song with my mother, which was "I Hope You Dance" by Leanne Womack, there was hardly a dry eye in the crowd. The lead female singer was incredible, and everyone from myself, to the photographers, to the guests, to even parts of the band where getting a little teary eyed. She is definitely a talented singer.

Then they just kept rocking for the rest of the evening. Along with their set list, they were taking requests, playing everything from Dire Straits to AC/DC. Don't get me wrong, there were definitely some ballads and slower songs thrown in there as well. Dave really had a good pulse on how to play the crowd, and kept the party moving along. They never were to loud or obnoxious either, very aware of the size of the room they were playing, and we didn't feel like we had trouble socializing, even when the party was in full swing.

I just cant tell you what a great time we had. Many of our guests had to travel, actually all of them, and people where blown away. We had people swearing that they would fly anywhere to watch these guys play again. I really think all of our guests just had a great time, and the band was a large factor in that.

So, in case you cant tell, I can wholeheartedly recommend them to anyone looking for a party. If you want a band to play background and elevator music, they can definitely do that, but I really think you'd be missing out on the full experience.

Sorry to be long winded, but the short of it is we loved them. I personally was responsible for 2 things in planning the wedding, the band and photographer. Picking the Party of Five made me look like a genius. : )
